Paver Sealing Faq's

Allow any moisture in or on the surface of the pavers to dry at least 2-4 hours. Allow 48 hours or more if temperatures are cool or a pressure washer has been used. For best results, the sand should be dry to its full depth before sealing. It is always recommended to test the sealer of choice in a small area first.

Yes. Sealing your pavers is the most beneficial thing you can do to ensure they last longer, ward off stains and maintain their beauty. If you choose not to seal your pavers they may suffer the effects of erosion, weed growth, mold or mildew build up, discoloration, and can become loose.

Never apply the sealant onto pavers that are still wet or even damp. When using a solvent-based sealer, this can cause a milky appearance. A solvent-based sealant should not be applied over a water-based sealant. Doing so can result in discoloration

Most brick pavers have enough texture and pores that the sealer does not form a solid film over the surface of the paver. ... Sealing these with certain types of brick sealers will make them very slippery when wet. There are special penetrating non film forming sealers than can be used on these pavers.

Using a pressure washer to clean your pavers helps remove any tough stains and breakdown all buildups. ... It's normal for some of the sand in the joints to get displaced, so just brush it back after you are done pressure washing. After pressure washing, you should add a new layer of polymeric sand.

The Process of Paver Sealing

Having K-Boys Construction of professional contractors apply your paver sealing every two to three years will ensure that you have maximum protection for your pavers.

The first step in doing paver sealing is making sure the pavers are dry. Paver sealing has to be done when there is no rain in the forecast for a few days.  This will ensure that the sealant has the proper time to dry and seal the pavers.

The team at K-Boys Construction will make sure that the pavers have been clean and debris free while making sure that the sand in between the joints have not been disturbed. We also make sure to remove any type of weeds that have protruded between each paver.

If the Pavers have any type of staining, then K-Boys will make sure the stains have been removed before the sealant is applied.

We then begin the process of paver sealing. At K-Boys we make sure that the sealant is applied evenly with a low-pressure sprayer while making sure that every area of the pavers has been covered.

Our team checks for the build-up of sealant making sure there is no pooling between the joints or on the surface.

The final step is letting the sealant dry. The sealant only takes about 2-4 hours to dry but we suggest that no walking on the surface for at least 48 hours.
